Albert F. Onchak

Albert F. Onchak (April 16, 1933 – April 25, 2024), age 91, of Shalersville, Ohio.  Beloved husband of Barbara (nee Zitner), his high school sweetheart, for 68 years; loving father of Patti Frost (Mark Koehler), Darlene Reaves (late Scott), Barbi MacDowell (Douglas), Paulina Onchak (Shawn Patrick), Anthony Onchak (Jennifer), and the late Gregory Onchak; dearest grandfather of Colby MacDowell, Ming Wei Patrick, Adison Onchak, Natalie Onchak and Julia Onchak; brother of   Martha Calvey (William), John Onchak (Marie), Joseph Onchak (Dolores), Matilda (Tia) Gilbert (Raymond), Loretta Dudas (Richard), all deceased. Veteran, U.S. Army (1953-1955).  Allie worked at US Steel for 28 years and retired from Gibraltar Strip Steel in 2004. His favorite place was his garden, on his tractor, growing vegetables and donating them to help feed the community.   Friends will be received at ST. JOHN FUNERAL HOME, 16381 CHILLICOTHE RD. (RT 306), CHAGRIN FALLS, 44023 (2.5 MILES NORTH OF RT. 422), MONDAY, APRIL 29 FROM 3 – 7 P.M. Mass of Christian Burial at CHURCH OF THE HOLY ANGELS, 18205 CHILLICOTHE ROAD (RT. 306), CHAGRIN FALLS, 44023, on Tuesday, April 30 at 11:15 A.M. (Please meet at Church). Burial to follow at All Saints Cemetery, Northfield. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to 4C’s Food Cupboard, 4572 W. Prospect St., Mantua, OH 44255.
