CHARLENE MAE BARTA (nee Hallmark), age 98, of Euclid, formerly of Bedford. Beloved wife of the late John; daughter of late Charles H. Hallmark and late Loula E. Hallmark (nee Baskett); dearest sister of late Stanley, late Maxene, late Norma, late Colleen, late Patty, and late Geneva; loving mother of John Jr (Barbara), Gary Allan (Cindy), and Steven Craig (Susan and late Pat); grandmother of Jeffery Barta (Laura), Bethany Garbe (Alex), Justin Barta, Scott Barta (Marianne), Stacey Menzies, Adam Menzies, Ryan Barta (Natalie), and Michael Barta; great grandmother of Moira, Devlin, Ashley, Katelyn, Clare, Anne, Faith, Isabella, and Mateo. Charlene worked hard to provide extras for family and later in life became a realtor. She loved meeting people and helping families find homes. Her success led to being the President of the Cleveland Area Board of Realtors, President of Ohio Women’s Council of Realtors, Vice President of Ohio Association of Realtors, Vice President of National Association of Realtors, and a National Director for 3 years. She also found time to be a School PTA president, Cub Scout Den Mother, and a local campaigner for cancer and March of Dimes Drives. She also served as President of the Macedonia AARP chapter. She was an accomplished seamstress and made great chocolate chip cookies. Friends and family are welcome to St. John Funeral Home, 16381 Chillicothe Road, Chagrin Falls, OH 44023 on Saturday, March 28 from 12 P.M. – 1 P.M. with a funeral service at 1 P.M. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Mount St. Joseph Rehab Center, 21800 Chardon Road, Euclid, OH 44117 or www.mountstjoseph.net in memory of Charlene.
