In Loving Memory of Douglas L. Williams

We celebrate the life of Douglas L. Williams, who was born and raised in Chagrin Falls, Ohio and was a lifetime resident of Bainbridge Township, Ohio. Douglas passed away peacefully on July 16, 2026 surrounded by the love of his family. He was the devoted son of the late Dan and Helen Williams and the beloved brother to Ted Williams, Judy Bozzi and Denise Schroeder.

Douglas was the cherished husband of the late Joan Williams, who passed in 2022 whom he shared a lifetime of love and devotion. He was a loving father to his three children Chad Williams, Adam Williams, and forever in his heart his late daughter Katherin Wolf (Williams) and a dedicated father-in-law to both Carrie Williams & Robert Wolf.

He was a proud and loving grandfather to his three grandsons Zander Wolf, Gavin Williams, and Ian Williams, who brought him immense joy and pride.

Douglas was deeply devoted to his work as well as his family and remained actively involved in the family business until his passing. He took great pride in managing and operating D.E. Williams Electric, Inc., a company founded by his father, Dan Williams, in the family's small garage on American Street in Chagrin Falls. He also was a long-standing member of NECA (National Electrical Contractors Association) and worked closely with IBEW Local 38 and IBEW local 673 whom he sat on the board of the apprenticeship program for many years. Together with his brother, Ted Williams, Douglas helped grow D.E. Williams Electric into one of the area's most respected electrical contracting companies. His unwavering work ethic, dedication to his craft, and commitment to treating customers and employees with fairness and respect helped shape the company's enduring reputation.

Beyond his remarkable work ethic, Doug had a lighter side that everyone who knew him cherished. He often said, "If you work hard, you play hard," and he truly lived by those words. With an infectious sense of humor and a quick wit, he had a gift for making people laugh and putting those around him at ease.

The friendships Doug formed over the years were too many to count. He could strike up a conversation with anyone, anywhere, and by the end of it, they often felt like an old friend. Outspoken and genuine, Doug stood firmly by his convictions and lived each day with honesty, loyalty, and authenticity. He leaves behind a legacy of hard work, laughter, friendship, and unwavering character.

The family requests if anyone would like to make a donation, please do so to the Cleveland Hearing & Speech Center https://www.chsc.org/ in honor of his late daughter Katherin Wolf (Williams) per Doug's request. No funeral services will be held. Instead, a private Celebration of Life will take place at a later date with close friends and family, as he wished.
