FRANK HARRISON WASHKO JR., age 96, of Hudson, OH. Beloved husband of June (nee Connors) for 64 years; loving father of Jim (Margaret), Mary Kay (Shari Drewett), Jeanne (Victor) Fox, Bob (Paulette), Tom (Rita); dearest grandfather of 11 and great-grandfather of 2; brother of Jane Young; preceded in death by parents Frank Washko Sr. and Ella McConnell. Frank was born in Bedford, OH and lived most of his life there, was a veteran of the US Army Air Corps, WWII, and a graduate of John Carroll University. After a long engineering career in aircraft power systems, he spent many years serving the poor as a volunteer for the St. Vincent de Paul Society. He also selflessly cared for his wife as her health began to fail in recent years. Frank was a hard worker and always busy with indoor and outdoor chores. He enjoyed music and along with his wife was a long-time member of the church choir at St Mary in Bedford and St. Mary in Hudson. Frank loved his family and was happiest when either hosting or attending family parties. He had an amazing memory and was known for telling numerous family history stories in remarkable detail. His love of history served him well as he spent years working on the family genealogy and then sharing it with his kids and grandkids. Frank will be remembered for his knowledge-sharing and his social and spirited nature. Relatives received at ST. JOHN FUNERAL HOME, 923 BROADWAY AVE., BEDFORD, (ONE MILE WEST OF THE FORBES-BROADWAY EXIT OF I-271) THURSDAY, DEC. 3, FROM 5 – 8 P.M. Mask wearing and social distancing observed. Relatives and friends invited to MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL, FRIDAY, DEC. 4, 11 A.M. at ST. MARY CHURCH, 340 N. MAIN ST., HUDSON. (EVERYONE PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH). Burial to follow at MARKILLIE CEMETERY, 410 N. MAIN ST., HUDSON.
