Frederick Lasorella, age 97, passed away peacefully in his sleep on October 16 in Aurora, Ohio. A devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather and great-grandfather, successful entrepreneur, and proud United States Army veteran, Fred lived a full and memorable life centered on family, friendship, hard work, and a love of adventure.
Born to Domenic and Angelica Lasorella, Fred grew up in a family with six siblings. He carried the importance of family throughout his life, and nothing meant more to him than the love he shared with those closest to him.
Fred proudly served in the United States Army during both World War II and the Korean War, including overseas assignments in Japan and Korea. As one of the last surviving World War II veterans, he represented a remarkable generation whose courage, sacrifice, and dedication helped shape our nation's history. His service and contributions will always be remembered with gratitude and respect.
Following his military service, Fred became a successful businessman, owning several businesses throughout his life, including a restaurant, a travel agency, and a construction business. His entrepreneurial spirit, determination, and willingness to embrace new opportunities were hallmarks of his life.

Whether building a business, sharing stories with friends, exploring new places, or gathering with family, Fred appreciated the experiences and relationships that made life meaningful. He had a gift for enjoying the moment and making the most of every opportunity.
Above all, Fred was a loving husband and father. He is survived by his beloved wife, Fay, married 72 years and his three daughters, Sherri Bonner (Michael), Lori St. John, and Gayle Hoefler (Jeffery). He was a proud grandfather to Brett Bonner (Erin), Tyler St. John (Carrie), Brittany Phatak (Rohit), Tara Nagle (Thomas), Gavin St. John (Sara), Eric Hoefler (Caitlin), and Lauren Flischel (Collin).
His legacy continues through his 12 great-grandchildren: Raegan, Andrew, Parker, Luke, Joseph, Pierce, Winona, Laura, Jack, Phoenix, Gionna, and Declan, who brought another generation of joy and love into his life.
Fred is also survived by his siblings Vincent Lasorella, Jerry Lasorella, and Linda Fioritto. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dominic and Angelica, and his siblings Nancy Kaye, Pearl Bailey and Robert Lasorella.
A man of Roman Catholic faith, Fred leaves behind a legacy of devotion to family, dedication to his work, service to his country, and a deep appreciation for life and friendship.
