Visitation, Thursday, June 3, 2021 from 11 A.M. – 1 P.M.

at our Bedford location followed by a closing service beginning at 1 P.M.

GEORGE M. BURROWS, age 90.  Beloved husband to the late Eleanora Burrows; dearest friend to the late Anne Teare.  Loving father to Mona Wronski (John), Joan Burrows, George Burrows, Jr. (Kathleen) (both deceased), Dawn Sergent, and Christine Ramsey (Tommy) (deceased).  Dearest grandfather to  Christopher Kowalewski, Lori Loepp (Tim), Adam McEwen (Charlene), Sharon McEwen, Amy McEwen, David Riegelmayer (deceased), Daniella Justus (Jack) , Dawna Sergent, Adam Ramsey (Heather), and Sara Ramsey. Great grandfather of 10. Great Great grandfather of 1.

George grew up in Bedford Hts., Ohio.  He served in the United States Marine Corps Reserves before enlisting with the U. S. Air Force serving in the Korean War. He was with the Strategic Air Command.  When asked why he didn’t stay with the Marines, he stated he wanted to fly.  George is a life time member of the NRA. He enjoyed boating and fishing with family and friends. In his younger days, he loved to go hunting.  George built and raced go karts and won many trophies with the karting club. He enjoyed riding and racing motorcycles, and roller skating at Brookpark Skateland with the family.  He loved flying in hot air balloons and gliders and he flew a Cessna.  He loved the feeling of the separation from the earth.  George retired from Van Leer Packaging. He was a member of the Bedford Hts. 50 Plus and 60 Plus groups.  His family and friends were his greatest treasure, priceless. He was loved by all and will be greatly missed.

Friends received at ST. JOHN FUNERAL HOME, 923 BROADWAY AVE., BEDFORD (ONE MILE WEST OF THE FORBES-BROADWAY EXIT OF I-271), THURSDAY, JUNE 3, 2021 FROM 11 A.M. – 1 P.M. with a closing service beginning at 1 P.M. followed by burial All Saints Cemetery.  (Masks required and social distancing will be observed).  In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the American Cancer Society.
