James M. Balchak

James M. Balchak, age 49, passed away on May 2, 2025. He was a resident of Chagrin Falls, Ohio. Jim’s huge heart gave him a boundless love for his family and friends, music, cooking, the outdoors, and living life. A classically trained chef, Jim realized his dream of owning his own restaurant when Aurelia opened in 2018 in Chagrin Falls.

He is survived by his mother, Arlene Balchak; sister Diane Moore (John); nephew Jack Moore (Rebecca); niece Holly Neeb (Tristan); and grand-niece Avery Moore.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday May 14, 2025 from 4-8pm at St. John Funeral Home, 16381 Chillicothe Road, Chagrin Falls, OH 44023. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday May 15, 2025 11am at The Church of the Holy Angels, 18205 Chillicothe Road, Chagrin Falls, OH 44023.
