John L. Hummer

John was the son of Roman and Mary Hummer (Gallagher) (both deceased). He was born in Delphos, Ohio and moved to Maple Heights, Ohio as a child. He was the husband of Martha Ballash (deceased) for 50 years and father of John, Mark, Christa (Todd Buenting), Andrea (Greg Loppnow) and Jeanie (Steve Bittence). He was very proud of his grandchildren (Cory, Tyler, Madison, Lauren, Grace and Ruth). He was the brother of Norma Hummer (Earl Miner) (both deceased), Marilyn and Bill Synecky (both deceased), Margie Terrion and Bill Terrion (deceased), Barbara Hummer Samuelson (Lars Samuleson) and Susie Hummer. He graduated from Maple Heights High School, was class president, an Eagle Scout, very athletic in football and wrestling, and was instrumental in his class reunions. After graduating from Notre Dame University, he and his father formed Roman A. Hummer and Son Contractors. John went on to form his own company (Hummer Construction and later Hummer Built.) He was a very devoted member of St. Rita Parish. Funeral service to be held on Monday, May 6, 10:00am at St. Rita's Church 32820 Baldwin Rd, Solon, Ohio.
