Kathryn Ratchford Kirtland

Kathryn Ratchford Kirtland, born Kathryn Gertrude Ratchford, passed away peacefully into the loving arms of her Lord on the evening of April 3, 2024.  At that time, she was with several family members and the week before was at a celebration of her 100^th birthday with family and friends at her residence in the Lantern of Chagrin Valley in South Russell, Ohio. Her life was a rich legacy of devotion to her family and neighbors and the creation of art in paintings, needlework, and music.  She was married to her husband, George W. Kirtland, Sr., for 67 years, who passed away in 2012. Sandra K. Robinson, her only daughter, passed away in 2018.  She is survived by her two sons, George W. Kirtland, Jr., and his wife, Delene, of Shaker Heights, OH, Christopher N. Kirtland and his wife, Paula, of Altus, OK, her son-in-law, Roland Herbert Robinson of Freehold, NJ, her brother-in-law, Jack P. Kirtland, of Williamsburg, VA, and six grandchildren and four great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at the Presbyterian Church of Toms River, 1070 Hooper Avenue, Toms River, NJ, 08753, on Saturday, April 27, 2024, at 11:00 AM with a reception to follow.  In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Presbyterian Church of Tom’s River.  Funeral arrangements made by St. John Funeral Home of Bainbridge Township, OH, 440-708-1855 (stjohnfh.com).
