Kenneth J Hughes Sr

Kenneth J. Hughes, Sr., age 87, of West Farmington, Ohio, passed away on October 4, 2026.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years, Leuella (Hites) Hughes; his three children, Shirley McIntosh (Mike), Ken Hughes, Jr. (Kathy), and Mary Armstrong (the late Victor Brunetti); five grandchildren, one of whom preceded him in death; and seven great-grandchildren.

Ken was born in Cleveland, Ohio, and was one of six boys. He moved to West Farmington in 1956, where he met the love of his life. After graduating high school, he proudly served his country in the United States Navy for four years.

Following his military service, he spent many years working as a truck driver, both over the road and locally. He enjoyed spending time with his family, sharing stories and memories, playing cards, gardening, woodworking, and remodeling. He and Leuella spent many hours playing Pinochle together, forming a formidable team that often seemed to read each other's minds and was difficult to beat. They also enjoyed working crossword puzzles and playing Scrabble together.

Those who knew Ken will remember him as a hardworking and dependable man who was proud of his family and the life he built.

Ken will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. His legacy of hard work, devotion to family, and determination will live on in the hearts of those he leaves behind.
