Laura J. Heilman

Laura Jean Heilman (nee Janc), 68, passed away peacefully on September 26, 2026. She was the beloved wife of Greg Heilman, with whom she shared 24 years of marriage. Laura is the daughter of Sandra Groenstein and the late Paul Janc; loving mother of Andrew Cowles (Mariesha Mikel) and Amy Weinrich (Derek); loving step mother to Tracie Montano (Marc), Charlie Heilman, and Destiny Shannon (Michael); loving grandmother of Annastasia Shannon and Emmerick and Everleigh Weinrich; cherished sister of Janice Feenstra (George), Michael Janc (Kelli), Ken Janc (Loretta), and Lisa Habbe (John). A graduate of South High School, Class of 1976, Laura retired from the City of South Euclid as Chief Building Official.

Laura loved and was talented with a needle, enjoyed crocheting, and throwing and firing pots. She also loved to travel and make memories along the way. For over 40 years South Russell was home to Laura, where she built a life filled with family, friends and many happy memories.

Due to her daughter’s behavior and with most of Laura’s family unable to be in the same room with each other, we are unable to conduct a respectfully peaceful service at this time.
