Linda Catherine Wiberg (née Bush), 62, of Chagrin Falls, formerly of Fairview Park and Gates Mills, passed away at home on May 25, 2026, after a long fight against a progressive disease.
Linda was the beloved wife of Sven Wiberg, with whom she recently celebrated 40 years of marriage; devoted mother of Molly Wiberg, Bridget Varley (Sean), Beth Wiberg, and John Wiberg; grandmother of Bailey Varley; dear sister of Betsy Benedict, Rick Bush (Maria), and Cindy McBride (Jim); loving aunt to many nieces and nephews; and a loyal and treasured friend to many. She was preceded in death by her parents, Virginia and William Bush, and her niece, Melissa McBride.
A graduate of Notre Dame Academy (1981) and The Ohio State University (1985, B.A. in Communications and Marketing), Linda embraced campus life, new experiences, and making many friends along the way. Following an internship at Wyse Advertising and graduation, she worked in media buying and account / creative collaboration with GSW in Columbus and Jayme in Cleveland before dedicating herself to raising her family, later taking on part-time roles with several local agencies and Notre Dame College. Her favorite professional role was leading the branding renewal and marketing efforts for St. Joan of Arc School in Chagrin Falls, where she had at least one child attend for 18 consecutive years.
Linda’s greatest effort and joy was in caring for her family and close friends through her welcoming spirit, comforting support, deep and fun conversations, and long walks through Lake in the Woods and local parks. Linda loved to plan and organize celebrations for holidays and life events, especially birthdays, sacraments and graduations with plenty of baked treats, such as home-decorated birthday cakes and oatmeal chocolate chip cookies.
Linda also enjoyed coordinating vacation trips and large family dinners, plus long walks, gentle waves and warm breezes at the beach, and the highly active banter of Maine and Hilton Head family game nights, whether Texas Hold-Em or Scrabble.
We will remember Linda as a woman of deep faith, full of life and love, who did small things with great care, and always brought active conversation, laughter and energy wherever she went. Linda loved the magic of colors, and all of her friends and family helped to create the beautiful mosaic of her life, each adding their own cherished piece to the vibrant person we know.
Our family sincerely thanks Linda’s “Angel Team” for their compassionate care, home communion visits, milkshake & Chick-fil-A runs, and bringing love, light and joy to each day of her long journey, as well as St Joan of Arc’s dedicated prayer group. We are also deeply grateful to the Cleveland Clinic Palliative Care and Hospice teams for their exceptional support and for always treating Linda with warm kindness, dignity and empathy.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather at St. John Funeral Home, 16381 Chillicothe Rd, Chagrin Falls, on Sunday, May 31st from 2:00 - 6:00 PM.
