LYNN LAVEZZI (nee CARRIER), age 77, of Bedford, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, neighbor, and friend, passed away at home on January 10.
Lynn was the devoted wife of William; loving mother of Heather (Douglas) Gansler, Noël Lavezzi and Robert (Elizabeth) Lavezzi; adoring grandmother of Drake Gansler, Fox Gansler, Navy Gansler, and Callan Lavezzi; and dear sister of Sheila Leet (John, deceased), William D. Carrier (Judy, deceased), the late Neil P. Carrier (Cathy), and Elizabeth O’Hare (Kenneth). She was preceded in death by her parents, William K. Carrier and Elvi M. Roos.
A 1970 graduate of Regina High School, Lynn served for several years as the secretary of several academic departments at John Carroll University. After settling in to a career as a mother and household manager, Lynn’s interests were eclectic and wide-ranging.
Family and friends admired Lynn for her hospitality and culinary skills. Renowned for her gatherings, Lynn was the life of the party, regularly hosting parties, barbeques, holidays, and special events. She enjoyed home renovation and remodeling. Lynn had a passion for gardening and being outdoors, taking great pride in her yard, which visitors and passersby regularly identified by the oversized hibiscus flowers she nurtured. She was a prolific correspondent, seldom missing a special occasion or an opportunity to acknowledge special milestones for others. She curated lifelong friendships, maintaining thoughtful connections with a network of friends and family.
Lynn devoted her life to service and support of her family: her proudest accomplishment was being Grammy to Drake, Fox, Navy, and most recently, Callan, all of whom brought her great joy during her final years.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Church of the Resurrection, the Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration, or an animal shelter of your choice.
Friends and family will be received at St. JOHN FUNERAL HOME, 923 BROADWAY AVE, BEDFORD (ONE MILE WEST OF THE BROADWAY-FORBES EXIT I 271) ON MONDAY, JANUARY 19 FROM 4 – 7 P.M.
