With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Lynne Diane Offerdahl on October 3, 2025 with her long-time companion Robert (Bob) Riley by her side. She fought a valiant five-year battle with cancer.
Lynne was born May 17, 1952, in Warren, Ohio, the daughter of Eric and Doris Offerdahl. She was 73 years old and throughout her life was proud of her Norwegian heritage.
She was a 1970 graduate of Howland High School and enjoyed a career as a data retention technician with Boeing and later with Progressive Insurance and lastly as a medical insurance specialist focused on those who needed Medicare or Medicaid assistance. Lynne made her home in Chardon, Ohio.
A confirmed member of Living Lord Lutheran Church in Howland she was known for her kindness and willingness to help others. Lynne loved to garden, cook, and bake. She especially enjoyed beach trips with morning walks in the sand and motorcycle rides with Bob. They shared many wonderful adventures over the years. She also enjoyed getting together monthly with her Howland Tiger Classmates.
Lynne is survived by Bob and his three children and six grandchildren. She is also survived by a brother Karl L. Offerdahl and three nephews from her late brother Gary and their families. She especially adored her great-nieces and nephew. She will be missed by her friends, neighbors, and colleagues.
She was proceeded in death by her parents, Eric and Doris Offerdahl and her beloved brother, Gary E. Offerdahl.
Lynne’s legacy will be celebrated on Friday, October 24, 2025, from 4:00pm to 7:00pm at St. John Funeral home, 16381 Chillicothe Road, Bainbridge Township, Ohio 44023 where Funeral Service will be held at 7pm. After cremation burial will be held privately at a later date at Whitehaven Cemetery in Mayfield Village, Ohio.
The family asks that random acts of kindness to others be her legacy. In lieu of flowers donations to the American Cancer Society https://www.cancer.org/ and Cleveland Clinic Hospice https://my.clevelandclinic.org/giving/ways-to-give/honor-memorial-giving would be appreciated.
