Margaret E. Mask

MARGARET “PEGGY” MASK (nee Buday), age 81, of Glenwillow passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 8th 2024 surrounded by her family. Peggy was the beloved mother of Scott (Sherry) Mask and Kelley (Scott) Lametto; loving sister of Tony (late Ruth) Buday, Tim (Deanna) Buday, and Rosemary (late John) Ewry; dearest grandmother of Taylor, Nick, Marisa, and Matthew; and cherished aunt to many nieces and nephews.  

Peggy was born and raised in Cleveland, attended college at Kent State University and enjoyed a long career at Hukill Chemical. She raised her family in Solon, where she lived for the past 55 years. Peggy was a former officer of the Hungarian Businessmen and Tradesmen Club and a former president of the Cleveland Chemical Association. She was an avid Cleveland sports fan and enjoyed softball and bowling.  

Peggy was a force to be reckoned with. She raised her kids as a single mother and took great joy in their success and especially in her grandchildren who knew her as Magga. Many of you will remember the family picnics in her backyard cooking szalonna over an open fire, playing volleyball, and doing a shot of bourbon (or two!). Her family will always cherish their Thanksgivings together, cooking and baking enough food to feed an army. Anyone who knew her will remember her quick wit, intelligence, warmth and laughter. She touched so many lives, made so many friends, and left the world a better place.   

Friends and family received at ST. JOHN FUNERAL HOME, 923 BROADWAY AVE., BEDFORD (ONE MILE WEST OF FORBES-BROADWAY EXIT OF I-271), SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 17, 2024 from 1P.M. – 3P.M. Private Mass will be held at a later date at St. Mary Roman Catholic Church, Bedford.
