Mary Magdalen Hunt

MARY MAGDALEN HUNT (nee Pax) age 98 of Chagrin Falls passed peacefully on January 17, 2024, surrounded by her family.  Beloved wife of the late Dominic for 52 years; loving mother of Brian (Linda), Vince (Angela), Greg (Christie), the late Maureen, Katie (Scott) Booth, and Gina (Scott) Morris; dearest grandmother of 15 grandchildren and cherished great grandmother of 4 great grandchildren. Mary was a devoted parishioner and faith group participant of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, previously of Gesu.  Prior to her retirement, she worked as a realtor.  Mary enjoyed gardening with the Herb Society and attending the John Carroll Faculty Wives’ Book Club as she was a lifelong learner.  Her chief focus was always God and family. For the last decade of her life, Mary had many dedicated caregivers, but for the last two years she was lovingly cared for by Lucy Abu from Cherished Companions, enjoying bird watching, puzzles, games of Rummikub and sharing her cooking tips and recipes.  Mom was an excellent cook, raised on a farm, one of 12 children.  Everyone who met Mary recognized her incredible grace and selflessness as she was always thinking of the person in front of her rather than herself. She will be lovingly missed by all.  Friends and family received at ST. JOHN FUNERAL HOME, 16381 CHILLICOTHE RD, (RT 306), CHAGRIN FALLS, 44023 (2.5 MILES NORTH OF RT 422), THURSDAY, JANUARY 25 FROM 3P.M. – 7P.M. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, January 26 at St. Joan of Arc, 496 E Washington St, Chagrin Falls, 44022 at 11A.M.  In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to CurePSP Inc, 1216 Broadway Ste 2, New York, NY 10001.
