Richard “Dick” Diedrich, age 90, passed away peacefully on April 19, 2024. Born on January 31, 1934, to Frederick and Emily Diedrich, Dick was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois and attended Beloit College. There he would become a member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity and met his wife, Pat Zelenka. Dick and Pat married on July 20, 1957, and were fortunate to have spent 62 years together. For 35 years, Dick worked as a district sales manager for Dun & Bradstreet. The company would later transfer Dick to Cleveland in 1971 where he and Pat settled in South Russell and lived happily for almost 50 years. He would go on to make many long-lasting friendships with his neighbors on Maple Hill Drive. He was one of the founding members of the Chagrin Athletic Association and long-time member of the Lions Club. After retirement he worked at Punderson State Park Golf Course. He enjoyed watching his grandchildren play sports, tending to his yard, playing golf and reading books. Dick had a great sense of humor and was a loving husband, father and grandfather who will be missed by all. Dick is survived by his daughter Jill of St. Louis, MO and by his son Steve of Chagrin Falls, OH; Grandchildren Spencer (Megan) Diedrich, Nate Diedrich and Jillian Diedrich; Great Grandson, Christopher Diedrich; Niece Denise Close, and nephew Rick Diedrich. He is preceded in death by his wife Pat, brother Fred Diedrich Jr., and sister-in-law Lotte Diedrich. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
