Richard D. Sheptak, 78, passed away on April 26, 2026. Born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, Richard carried with him a deep sense of loyalty to his roots, his family, and his friends throughout his life.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 56 years, Eileen (Clark) Sheptak. Richard is survived by his daughter, Tracey Fenolio; his son, Dale Sheptak; his daughter-in-law, Lea Sheptak; his granddaughters, Christy Fenolio, Olivia Lifsey, and Bronwyn Sheptak; and his great-granddaughter, Essie Lifsey.

A proud Navy veteran, Richard served his country with honor. He was known as a dedicated family man and a loyal friend, always willing to lend a hand or offer support. An avid handyman, Richard found joy in fixing things and taking on projects, often helping others with his skill and care. He also enjoyed playing golf and traveling, especially to visit family in Scotland.

Richard will be remembered for his steady presence, his generosity, and the quiet way he showed up for the people in his life.

Friends and family are welcome to St. John Funeral Home, 16381 Chillicothe Rd, Chagrin Falls, OH 44023 on Saturday, May 16 from 11 A.M. – 1 P.M. with a funeral service at 1 P.M. Interment will be at a later date. 

In lieu of flowers, donations to Navy Safe Harbor Foundation would be appreciated.
