Robert H. Oldcorn Jr.

In Loving Memory of Robert Harold Oldcorn Jr.

Robert Harold Oldcorn Jr., 88, of Bedford, Ohio, passed away peacefully on September 20, 2026.

Born May 15, 1938, Robert was the oldest of nine children of Robert H. Oldcorn Sr. and Grace V. Oldcorn. In 1956, he proudly joined the United States Marine Corps. While stationed at Camp Lejeune, he met the love of his life, Joy Cross. They married September 7, 1957, and shared nearly 66 years together before she passed in August 2023.

After his military service, Robert worked for many years as a professional truck driver with D. Hamilton Trucking Company. He also served his community as a volunteer firefighter and paramedic with the Northfield Center Fire Department. A gifted mechanic, he turned his love of repairing small engines into family businesses, B & E Mower in Macedonia and Gateway Mower in Streetsboro.

Robert’s Christian faith was the foundation of his life. He was known for his integrity, hard work, generosity, humor, and willingness to help anyone in need. Whether repairing a car or lawn mower, mowing someone’s grass, clearing a driveway, or simply offering encouragement, Robert believed helping others was simply the right thing to do.

Above all, Robert loved his family. He is survived by his children, Linda (Greg) Steinmetz, Susan (Johnny) Cummings Jr., and Robert R. (Susan) Oldcorn; nine grandchildren, Robert (Urga) Rice, Randy (Georgeanne) Rice, Jason (Tara) Steinmetz, Trisha Rice, Eric (Katie) Steinmetz, Renee (Joseph) Falin, Kyle (Rachelle) Oldcorn, Kaylie Oldcorn (Josh Frazier), and Johnny Cummings III; fifteen great-grandchildren; his brothers, Michael Oldcorn and Richard (Debra) Oldcorn; and many extended family members and friends who called him Dad, Grandpa and Uncle Bob.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Joy; his parents; and siblings Daniel Oldcorn, Sylvia Heinan, William Oldcorn, Lawrence Oldcorn, Linda Austin, and Grace Lynn Oldcorn.

Robert’s legacy is one of faith, family, service, hard work, integrity, and love. He served his country, his community, his family, and his Lord. His family takes comfort knowing he has been reunited with his beloved Joy.

Semper Fi! We will always love you, Our Marine!
