Ronald James Fitchko

Ronald James Fitchko, age 81, of Bainbridge Twp. Beloved husband of Janet Fitchko; loving father of Jason (Kristyn), Justin (Jennifer), and Joshua (Kristen); dearest brother to Nancy Schuemann and late Bill Schuemann and late brother Frank Fitchko and his surviving spouse Nikki Fitchko; grandfather to Braden, Logan, Madison, Davis, Gavin, Matthew & Nolan, cherished family member to Robert & Janet Bell, Judy Bell, Erin Bell, Carson (Tatiana) Bell, Laura Barrett, Alison (Casey) Kraft, Aaron (Shannon) Fitchko, Darcy (Scott) Schreiber.

Ron passed away peacefully, with his family embracing him, leaving behind a lifetime of memories, friendships, and a family who loved him deeply. For nearly 50 years, Ron was the proud owner of Mentor Office Center, where he built not only a successful business, but lasting relationships with the many people he met along the way. He was a hardworking and determined man who believed in doing things the right way. His work ethic and perseverance were guidelines to his family and those he mentored.

While Ron was a businessman, it was the people and experiences in his life that brought him the greatest joy. He loved to golf, treasured his annual fishing trips to Canada, traveled to 15 foreign countries, and spent weekends at the family ski house at Holiday Valley, NY for more than 30 years, a special place where loved ones gathered and shared laughs. A lifelong sports fan, Ron rarely missed an opportunity to cheer on his beloved Cleveland Browns and Guardians. He also enjoyed playing cards, trying his luck at keno at the casino, and—perhaps most of all—attending his grandchildren’s sporting events and ceremonies.

Most importantly, Ron was an incredibly kind and generous man. He was always looking out for his adored wife and family, offering advice and making sure people felt cared for and welcomed. His kindness was never something made known—it was simply who he was. He will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. “Ronnie’s” lifelong friend aptly described him as a man who was truly “endearing.” His legacy will live on in the traditions he created, the friendships he cherished, and the many lives he touched simply by being himself.

Relatives and friends received at St. John Funeral Home, 16381 Chillicothe Rd., Bainbridge Twp., Oh. 44023 September 23 from 4-8 P.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated the following day, September 24 at 11:00 A.M. Church of the Holy Angels, 18205 Chillicothe Rd., Chagrin Falls, Oh. 44023. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to the Holy Angels Memorial Fund or Hospice of the Western Reserve Foundation.
