Cremation Celebration of Life in the Spring

SOPHIE HALKO (nee Kovacs) passed away peacefully on January 22, 2018, age 91. Predeceased by her husband, George; son, Jeffery; sisters, Elizabeth, Joanne, Katie (twin), Gizelle; and dance partner, John Zaloznik. Sophie leaves behind two sons, Gregory of Chagrin Falls and Michael (Jane) of Brockport, New York; grandchildren, Georgette (Stephanie) of Port Richie, Florida and Gregory Jr. (Christie) of Cincinnati; and two great grandchildren, Gabrielle and Tyler. She was dearly loved by her nieces, Laura Larson (Siegel) and Karen Egea and nephews, Sydney and William Weizel. Sophie was dedicated to her three sons, raising them in the faith, at St. John the Baptist Hungarian Byzantine Catholic Church. She was known by all as a talented baker, especially at Christmas and Easter. She was a loving soul, whose memory will be cherished by all who knew her. Sophie was cremated and a celebration of life will be held in the Spring. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Crossroads Hospice, www.crossroadshospice.com in her memory.
