WALTER J. SAUERTEIG, age 81, of Bainbridge Twp. Beloved husband of Lila I. (nee Pares) for 53 years; loving father of David Sauerteig and Christine Sauerteig-Pilaar (George Pilaar); dearest grandfather of Sophie and Sarah Pilaar. Walter was born in the Bronx, NY to August Sauerteig, a horse and cart milkman, and Julia Sauerteig (nee Rickley). Walter excelled in mathematics and followed his passion to become an electrical engineer. He worked at Singer-Kearfott for 24 years and lived in NJ until he accepted a new offer as the Plant Manager at Enersys for 26 years. His new home in Ohio brought him many friends and fulfillment. Walter was cremated. Friends received at the ST. JOHN FUNERAL HOME, 16381 CHILLICOTHE ROAD (RT 306), CHAGRIN FALLS, 44023 (2.5 MILES NORTH OF RT. 422), SATURDAY, MARCH 20 FROM 10 A.M. UNTIL TIME OF SERVICE AT 12 NOON followed by burial at Restland Cemetery. Masks required and social distancing will be observed.
